Former Baseball Coach Adamant About Not Wanting Another Job

What Jim Schlossnagle Said When He Left TCU for Texas AM

Former baseball coach adamant about not wanting another job

Jim Schlossnagle made it clear when he left TCU for Texas AM that he had no interest in coaching anywhere else. But as the saying goes, never say never.

After leading Texas AM to the College World Series finals and coming up short against Tennessee on Monday night, Schlossnagle was asked if he had any regrets about leaving TCU.

"I don't regret leaving TCU," Schlossnagle said. "I love TCU. I love the people there. I love the players there. But I also love Texas AM. I love the people here. I love the players here. And I think we have a chance to do something special here."

Schlossnagle's decision to leave TCU for Texas AM was a controversial one. Many TCU fans were upset to see him go, and some even accused him of being a hypocrite for saying he didn't want to leave TCU only to take another job a few months later.

But Schlossnagle has defended his decision, saying that he made the move for family reasons. His wife, Becky, is from Texas, and they have two young children. Schlossnagle said he wanted to be closer to his family, and that Texas AM offered him a better opportunity to do that.

Whether or not Schlossnagle's decision to leave TCU was the right one remains to be seen. But there's no doubt that he's made a big impact at Texas AM in a short amount of time. The Aggies have won the SEC West in each of Schlossnagle's two seasons at the helm, and they've made it to the College World Series finals both times as well.

Schlossnagle is a proven winner, and he's quickly turned Texas AM into a national powerhouse. If he can continue to build on the success he's had so far, there's no telling what the future holds for the Aggies.
